Lois is widely recognized for her tireless advocacy to defend reproductive freedom, protect Social Security and Medicare, and make health and family care more affordable.
Reproductive Freedom So women can access the health care they need, including legal abortion, contraception, and IVF.
I believe that women, not politicians, should decide whether and when to start or grow a family. That means women should have access to the reproductive health care services they need, including abortion. Since the Trump-appointed Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, over 20 states, including Florida, have banned or severely restricted abortion access. Women in Florida are now living under a cruel 6-week ban, before most women even know they are pregnant. I am fully committed to restoring the right to abortion nationwide. That’s why I am proud to co-lead the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would establish women’s rights to abortion care and doctors’ rights to provide that care without the threat of being sued or going to prison. I will not stop fighting until this bill becomes law.
Her work focuses on securing federal resources to lower costs for working families—making essentials like groceries, gas, and prescription drugs more affordable—while strengthening Social Security and Medicare, protecting reproductive health care, expanding access to affordable child and long-term care, and modernizing America’s infrastructure. She is also committed to bolstering U.S. diplomacy and securing funding that advances U.S. national security, economic interests, and global stability.
I was proud to champion the passage of the bipartisan Speak Out Act, which ensures that survivors of sexual harassment and assault are not silenced by non-disclosure agreements (NDA’s) buried in the fine print of their onboarding papers. This is one step to holding harassers accountable and ensuring a safe, respectful workplace for women and all workers.
It’s no secret--the cost of living in Florida and across the country is way too high for working families. We need to bring costs down at the grocery store, gas station, and pharmacy, so no one struggles to meet their most basic needs. I am committed to lowering the cost of living and making essentials like groceries, gas, and prescription drugs more affordable.
We must do more to address the gender wage gap. I am proud to support the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would combat wage discrimination on the basis of sex. The bill requires pay differences to be related to only job-related factors, makes it unlawful to prohibit employees from discussing wages, and prohibits employers from soliciting salary history, among other important provisions. We must also ensure that women have the social support they need to thrive in the workplace—this includes access to child care, long-term care, and paid family leave. Not investing in these benefits costs our economy $750 billion per year in lost wages. Women bear the brunt of this impact. That’s why I’ve pushed back against Donald Trump’s efforts to dismantle the Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. These agencies are vital to enforcing civil rights and labor protections to ensure women receive fair pay and equal treatment at work.
As a working grandmother, I have seen firsthand the skyrocketing prices of child care and long-term care. Child care has become completely inaccessible for too many families. Meanwhile, about 3 million Americans provide unpaid caregiving to an aging, sick, or disabled relative, costing our economy $600 billion a year. I am committed to ensuring families can access quality, affordable care for their children and their families. I have been proud to support legislation that would expand access to child care and long-term care, including the Child Care for Working Families Act, which would cap child care costs at 7 percent of a family’s income and ensure child care workers are paid a living wage, and the Better Care Better Jobs Act, which would expand access to long-term care for older adults and Americans with disabilities. As a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I have fought for increased funding for child care programs, including the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) and Head Start, and Home and Community-Based Services, which help seniors and individuals with disabilities live dignified lives in the setting of their choice, including in their own homes.
ANTISEMITISM I am alarmed by the disturbing rise in antisemitism across our country, especially as a member of the Jewish community. I proudly serve on the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, which aims to ensure Congress plays an integral role in condemning antisemitism and spearheading initiatives that promote tolerance worldwide. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I have advocated for increased funding for security for synagogues and other places of worship that could be targets for hate crimes. I have also championed funding for the Department of Education to ensure schools and colleges are safe learning environments for Jews and all other students. I have cosponsored bills, including the Antisemitism Awareness Act, and the Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons Act. These bills strengthen federal efforts to counter domestic antisemitism, mandate Holocaust education, and crack down on antisemitism in schools. We must continue to invest in programs that prevent hate, promote education, and build awareness about antisemitism nationwide and around the world. Hate has no place in our country or anywhere.

Through her role in the Committee, the Congresswoman is also committed to fighting back against the Trump Administration’s efforts to eliminate and tamper with congressionally-appropriated funding that has already been signed into law.
In 2022, Congress passed and President Biden signed into law the Inflation Reduction Act, which lowered drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate fairer prices on behalf of seniors, capping out-of-pocket costs for Medicare beneficiaries, and penalizing drug companies that raise prices faster than the rate of inflation. I also support legislation to lower the Medicare eligibility age, reduce premiums, expand benefits, and provide dental, hearing, and vision coverage. I will oppose any efforts by the Trump Administration to reverse these cost saving initiatives.
Lois is widely recognized for her tireless advocacy to defend reproductive freedom, protect Social Security and Medicare, and make health and family care more affordable.
Falls are the leading cause of injury and injury-related deaths among adults over 65. As the founder of the Bipartisan Task Force on Falls Prevention, I have worked with colleagues across the aisle to address the epidemic of elderly falls. I will continue to fight for increased funding for falls prevention programs in our community and to work with Medicare to reduce fall risks for older adults.
Through her role on the committee, Lois has been fighting to stop Republican cuts to health care, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and has worked tirelessly to lower costs for families, protect our environment, and expand access to housing.
I have been proud to support legislation to lower the price of prescription drugs, make home ownership and rent more affordable, and lower taxes for families with children. In 2022, Congress passed and President Biden signed into law the Inflation Reduction Act, which lowered drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate fairer prices on behalf of patients, capping out-of-pocket costs for seniors, and penalizing drug companies that raise prices faster than the rate of inflation.
Child and Long-term Care So families can access quality, affordable care for their children and older loved ones.

Social Security and Medicare So our loved ones can age with comfort and dignity. Health Care So everyone can access affordable, quality health care.

Palm Beach County is home to over 350,000 seniors. I will always fight to protect Social Security and Medicare, lower the costs of prescription drugs, and reduce falls among older adults.

Lower Costs So families can comfortably afford groceries, gas, housing, and prescription drugs.
Israel and Antisemitism So our ally has the resources needed to defend herself and we root out hate from our communities.

ISRAEL I will always stand by Israel, and I am committed to ensuring our ally has the resources and support needed to defend itself and maintain peace and security. In Congress, as Ranking Member of the National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Subcommittee, I support continued security assistance to Israel and robust funding for Israel’s missile defense capabilities. Since Hamas’s deadly attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, I have supported emergency aid to Israel as it works to dismantle Hamas and fight proxies on multiple fronts. I frequently meet with released hostages who were held in Gaza as well as their families, and will continue to speak out for the unconditional and immediate release of the remaining hostages. As part of that commitment to peace and security, I have consistently spoken out on the existential threat posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions. For decades, the Iranian regime has armed terrorist proxies, called for the destruction of Israel and the United States, and relentlessly pursued nuclear weapons. It is vital that President Trump and Congress work together in a constructive, bipartisan manner to ensure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon. The safety of Israel, our allies, and the United States depends on it.
Social Security is not a handout. For the more than 380,000 seniors in Palm Beach County, it is a promise that they have earned through a lifetime of hard work. I am proud to support bills like the Social Security 2100 Act, which would increase benefits for retirees, protect against inflation, support low-wage workers, reduce Social Security taxes for lower- and middle-income earners, provide caregiver credits, strengthen the Social Security Trust Fund, and more. I will always oppose Republicans’ efforts to privatize Social Security or cut the essential benefits that our seniors have earned, and I continue to speak out against the Trump Administration’s efforts to gut the agency and customer service.
