WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today introduced the School Health and Instructional Environment Limits and Disclosure (SHIELD) Act, legislation requiring local educational agencies to notify parents before distributing or disseminating information about abortion or abortion-related services to students. The bill also prohibits abortion providers and their subsidiaries from distributing or disseminating such information to students on school grounds or through a school’s virtual platforms, including social media. The SHIELD Act is endorsed by Students for Life Action, a leading national organization fighting to protect the unborn and defend the right to life.
I am a staunch defender of the right to life, and I am pleased that many states have sought to protect this right after the Supreme Court correctly decided that the Constitution did not prohibit states from acting to protect the lives of the unborn. Taxpayer dollars should not be used to support abortion in any circumstances. That is why I support the inclusion of the Hyde Amendment in spending legislation and oppose the Biden Administration’s efforts to facilitate abortions for Department of Defense personnel.

I’ve worked in the agriculture community and know firsthand the issues facing our farmers, ranchers, and producers in Florida. I believe that education should be managed at the state level, and therefore, support the elimination of the U.S. Department of Education. I oppose the integration of progressive platform issues in local schools, standing firmly against any form of liberal indoctrination or reduced parental rights within the education system. I’m a staunch defender of women’s sports, and oppose the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical rewrite of Title IX.

Domestic energy production is critical to our economy and national security. I am fighting for policies in Congress that reduce dependency on foreign nations, increase domestic energy production, and other means to make energy more affordable for Americans. I oppose the Biden-Harris Administration’s Electric Vehicle mandates and their wasteful taxpayer spending on EV charging infrastructure. Alternative fuel and energy sources can contribute to making our nation energy independent, but it cannot come at the expense of American jobs, Americans’ pocketbooks, or empowering our adversaries and enemies.

I maintain a firm stance against burdensome regulations in the agricultural sector, and support policies that help create fair trade markets for American farmers. Recognizing that it’s critical to understand the important balance between agriculture and water quality issues, I advocate for policies that reduce government intervention.
Assuring a swift and safe recovery for all victims of Hurricane Debby, Hurricane Ian, and Hurricane Idalia has been my utmost priority in the aftermath of these horrific disasters. In Congress, I have authored legislation to fix FEMA responses, secured appropriation funds for disaster recovery, fought for changes for better storm resilience, and authored bipartisan legislation that passed the House of Representatives to provide federal tax relief to victims of disasters. As your representative, please know I will continue to work tirelessly in support of disaster recovery efforts so Floridians can be prepared for the next storms.

The lawlessness we see at our southern border is a direct result of the Biden Administration’s complete dereliction of duty in enforcement of existing immigration laws. We must secure the border by completing the wall, and we must actually enforce the law so that illegal aliens are not rewarded for illegally crossing the border. I voted for legislation to complete the border wall and strengthen our existing border security laws. In addition, I supported the impeachment of the Biden Administration’s Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas due to his willful neglect of his duty to enforce border security laws and his breach of the public’s trust.

Driving down the road does NOT give the government permission to track your every move. I’m introducing the FLAFO Act to fight Flock camera surveillance. The Fourth Amendment is not optional. Get a warrant or stop tracking us.
As a member of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, I have had the opportunity to investigate the censorious relationship that developed between federal agencies and certain large social media companies.
