Florida is one of only ten states that has not expanded Medicaid. Expansion would provide coverage to roughly half a million uninsured Floridians, with the federal government covering 90% of the cost. Floridians are already paying federal income taxes that help fund Medicaid expansion in 40 other states, it’s time to bring those federal dollars home. VA hospitals are federally operated, so Johnny will work with Florida’s federal delegation while supporting better transportation, mental health services, local partnerships, and veteran service officers here at home.

Nearly 1.4 million veterans call Florida home, including about 33,000 in Escambia County. Pensacola already has a VA clinic, but Northwest Florida needs full-service hospital care closer to home.
